Stock Refinishing and Recheckering
This original Parker Brothers DH grade 12ga. had been refinished at least twice by the time I was asked to work on it. The metal was immaculate but the wood was badly worn and the checkering nearly filled in smooth by the prior refinishings.
Careful sanding to restore some of the rounded edges and refinishing to a satin luster helped to restore the piece. Deepening the checkering and recutting the mullered borders brought the whole gun back to life again. A total of 22 hours of work went into thsi project.
